Had the upgrade price been half the today's offer, I would upgrade each year. Upgrade price is high compared with the price for a new user. Personally I'll upgrade next year (last year I have upgraded from PhotoLab 3 to PhotoLab 4 and don't feel spending so much for DxO's steep upgrade pricing for now you can skip one upgrade or you'll be forced to buy new version if you have an older version. The Filmpack will be integrated within PhotoLab.

The update from Photolab 1 to Photolab 2 has little of interest. Now, it appears that this policy has changed. They won't be used by versions that were released before they were. It doesn't matter whether it was a major (chargeable) or a minor dot (free) release. New cameras modules have always needed the latest version of the software. That has nothing to do with camera modules.

Yes, and the same was true with PL 1.1, which had free improvements. Many of the software updates were to the same version of the software and were FREE. You can never use a new camera module with an earlier software version.
